Assistant Technical Manager

 ATG Entertainment Position Overview the Assistant Technical Director (ATD) is an entry-level technical operations role, and a member of the show run team rotation. This position provides on-site technical support during rehearsals, performances, and live events, with responsibility for troubleshooting issues as they arise and representing the theatre and ATG in a professional, client-facing capacity. 

The ATD operates within workflows established by the Production Director. Task assignments are distributed based on operational needs and individual skill sets. The Assistant Technical Director works in close coordination with the Technical Director on venue systems and technical matters, while all workflows, task assignments, and reporting remain under the direction of the Production Director. 

Core Responsibilities 

 Show Run & Live Event Support

 - Serve in the show run team rotation during performances and events

 - Monitor live productions and respond to technical issues in real time 

- Coordinate with department heads, stagehands, and visiting crews 

- Represent the theatre and ATG professionally to touring productions and clients 

Production & Venue Operations 

- Support advancing and event preparation as assigned 

- Assist with load-in and load-out operations 

- Support day-to-day technical readiness of both venues

 - Assist with troubleshooting and basic maintenance of house systems 

Training & Development

 - Learn ATG production workflows, safety standards, and operational protocols 

- Gain exposure to advancing, settlement preparation, and technical planning 

- Progress toward increased responsibility as experience develops

 Qualifications Required 

- Interest in professional theatre, concerts, or live event production

 - Foundational technical knowledge (lighting, audio, video, staging, or similar) 

- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
