POSITION: Marketing Automation Engineer
LOCATION: New York, NY
HOURS: Full-Time, non-union. 40hrs/week
COMPENSATION: $110k - $125k (Commensurate with Experience)
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Marketing Automation Engineer within our CRM and Data team, you will bridge marketing technology and data engineering to enhance how we automate, personalize, and measure customer engagement. You’ll work across our key platforms — including Iterable, Snowflake, and Power BI — to design reliable data pipelines, integrate APIs, and build scalable solutions that power dynamic marketing campaigns.
You’ll collaborate with marketing professionals, data scientists, analysts, and CRM specialists to operationalize recommendations, testing frameworks, and campaign logic within our marketing ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of marketing and engineering — experienced in marketing platforms and data infrastructure, curious about data science, and excited to build systems that turn insights into action at scale.
PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS
- Partner with CRM, Data, and Marketing teams to shape how we use data and technology to deliver smarter, more personalized marketing.
- Build and maintain the systems and workflows that connect our key platforms — including Iterable, Snowflake, Power BI, and other web services — ensuring data flows reliably and supports campaign delivery at scale.
- Build and deploy automations / journeys that complement the customer lifecycle, increase engagement, and build customer loyalty.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve marketing efficiency.
- Ensure our marketing systems are robust and well-documented, establishing best practices for testing, monitoring, and process improvement.
- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to turn insights and models into practical applications that drive campaign performance and personalisation.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data quality, streamline workflows, and improve how teams across the business use technology to reach customers.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Experience with campaign automation, audience segmentation, or personalization using API-driven data workflows.
- Proven experience building, maintaining, and optimizing API-based integrations between data warehouses, marketing platforms, and cloud services.
- Hands-on experience working with Customer Engagement Platforms (e.g. Iterable or similar platforms), including data ingestion, event tracking, and campaign automation via API.
- Experience working with Data Science teams to operationalize models, delivering their outputs into marketing and upstream systems such as Iterable or Snowflake.
- Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines across modern data stacks — e.g. Snowflake, dbt, and AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue).
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation, automation, and API integration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to translate marketing and business requirements into reliable, scalable, and well-documented technical solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CCPA).
Desirable
- Good understanding of data orchestration, version control, and testing practices (e.g. Airflow, GitHub, CI/CD).
- Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker).
- Proven record of maximizing value from consumer data, especially within the media/live entertainment domain.
