Role Food and Beverage Service Team Member
LOCATION: New York, NY
HOURS: Part Time, max 29 hrs./week
(weekly min. hrs. based on business volume)
COMPENSATION: $19 per hour plus gratuity
THE ROLE:
The St. James Theatre is hiring Food and Beverage Service Team Members who share love for theatre and hospitality.
We are looking for friendly, efficient, and professional servers focused on ensuring overall guest satisfaction. Varying server positions include (but are not limited to): Coat Check, Delivered-at-Seat, Kiosk services with occasional opportunities to serve as a Bartender or Lounge Attendant (depending on skill level). Joining our team will require training and shadow shifts that will be compensated at the hourly rate mentioned above. The role will remain untipped until training has been completed and skillset required is understood.
You will be joining a high-energy, detail-oriented team that plays a central role in maintaining sales targets for the venue, as well as ensuring our operations run safely and smoothly. You will work amongst a collaborative company focused on providing the ideal customer experience for theatregoers on Broadway.

· Comfortable in fast-paced environments and able to remain calm and constructive under pressure
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
· Prior Food & Beverage or hospitality experience preferred
· Strong communication skills with an outgoing, service-oriented personality
· Ability to promote theater services and offerings confidently
· Effective problem-solving skills with solid time and priority management
COMPETENCIES
· Ability to stand for extended periods and travel up and down stairs frequently
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
· Availability for weekends, matinees, and holidays preferred
· Knowledge of food safety standards; TIPS, Food Handler’s, or ServSafe certifications encouraged
· Bilingual skills are a plus
